Sahar’s presentation at PaperJam’s 10×6 – The New European Bauhaus

The motto of the New European Bauhaus is “Beautiful, Sustainable, Together”:

Enriching, inspired by art and culture, responding to needs beyond functionality.
Sustainable, in harmony with nature, the environment, and our planet.
Inclusive, encouraging a dialogue across cultures, disciplines, genders and ages.

In this spirit, PaperJam invited 10 architects to speak about this theme and their projects that represent these ideals. Sahar was one of them, and she was delighted to talk about how we worked together with a top team of engineers to develop the concepts of our Glamping cabin, den Tiermchen, into real, working plans of action.

NeoMag – Minimising the impact : The work of a team

After we won the OAI and Ministry of Tourism competition to design a glamping cabin for Luxembourg, we were then tasked with transforming our concepts into reality. The circular construction techniques, low carbon, and off-grid systems needed to work, and for that we needed a good team. Sahar worked hard to find the best, and we have been so happy with the innovative thinking that has resulted in a cabin that will have a minimum impact on the environment. They are DESA structural engineers, Lee Franck of LEEN, and BuildTec engineers.

Our Steinsel Renovation in Wunnen!

This extension and renovation project in Steinsel has been a labor of love for our clients. They needed more room for their children and themselves and wanted to open up their kitchen and living room to their wonderful garden. They have a new master suite where there was only an attic, and much more light and space for everyone.

Saharchitects wins the Glamping Competition!

We were very proud and humbled to accept the winning award presented by Pierre Hurt and Michelle Friederici of the OAI accompanied by the Luxembourg Minister of Tourism, Lex Delles. The ceremony was held at the OAI centre where they had an exhibition of all of the creative entries displayed from architecture firms across Luxembourg.

Since then, our design has been published in Wunnen, NeoBuild, the Luxemburger Wort and many other publications and social media posts, and this has been a fun experience for us as a team. We have been hard at work with an excellent team of engineers to develop the design and create construction documents so the cabin can one day be built.
